Becoming

11” × 14” (28 × 38 cm)

Watercolor

————

Childhood rarely ends all at once. It quietly gives way to something new.

Becoming reflects the moment when a young girl begins her journey into womanhood—a time of change, curiosity, uncertainty, and quiet strength. As the body transforms and emotions become unfamiliar, the future can feel both exciting and overwhelming.

Rather than telling a specific story, I wanted the expression to speak for itself. Soft watercolor washes and gentle transitions mirror the uncertainty of this stage, while the eyes hold the quiet questions that often accompany growing up.

This painting is a tribute to one of life’s most universal transitions—the courage it takes to embrace change before fully understanding where it will lead.
