Evening Light in Venice

22” × 14” (56 × 38 cm)

Watercolor

————

As evening settles over Venice, the city seems to exhale.

The day’s energy fades into stillness as warm light spreads across the lagoon, turning the water into a mirror of soft reflections. Gondolas rest quietly, suspended between movement and rest, while the city becomes little more than silhouettes against the glowing sky.

Painted with loose washes and expressive brushwork, I focused on atmosphere rather than detail—capturing the feeling of being present during those fleeting minutes when daylight gently gives way to evening.

This painting is an invitation to pause and appreciate the quiet beauty that exists between day and night.
