Pause

11” × 14” (28 × 38 cm)

Watercolor

—————

The world rarely asks us to slow down.

This painting was inspired by a simple moment when sunlight filtered through the trees, casting shifting patterns across a quiet path. There was nothing extraordinary about the scene—only light, shadow, and the stillness that often goes unnoticed as we hurry past.

The changing light became the true subject of the painting. Soft washes and loose brushwork allow the edges to dissolve, inviting the eye to wander rather than settle on any single detail. Like the moment itself, the image is intentionally open, leaving space for memory and reflection.

Pause is a reminder that beauty is often found not in remarkable places, but in the brief moments when we stop long enough to notice the light around us..
