Winter has a way of slowing a city down.

On a snowy morning in New York’s Chinatown, fresh snow softened the streets while a lone figure crossed beneath a white umbrella. The warm glow from the restaurant windows offered a quiet contrast to the cold outside, turning an ordinary street into a moment of calm and comfort.

Rather than painting every brick or window, I wanted to preserve that gentle conversation between warmth and winter—the muted colors of fresh snow, the quiet rhythm of footsteps, and the small pockets of light that make a city feel welcoming even on its coldest days.

Watercolor allows these moments to remain soft and fleeting. Its transparent layers suggest memory rather than certainty, inviting the viewer to complete the story through their own experiences.

Winter Glow is a reminder that even in the middle of winter, warmth is often found in the smallest moments—a lighted window, a familiar street, or the simple act of walking home through freshly fallen snow.
